The company

Forbes led its Monday daily briefing with Warhound, which has raised $200 million at a $1.2 billion valuation. Forbes said most military dogs come from Europe, are in limited supply, and many fail the training.

The plan

According to Warhound's launch announcement, the Texas company aims to build a domestic supply of military working dogs using advanced genetics. TechCrunch reported Anduril will supply hardware and software while Colossal supports the genetics platform.

Background

Lamm's Colossal Biosciences is known for de-extinction projects. Warhound applies the same tools to a defence supply problem.

Our view

Defence tech has moved from drones to biology. The ethical and regulatory questions will grow as fast as the valuation.
